Employment by foreign investors in ISO 500 list reaches 160,000

Star - The employment created by foreign capital companies in the list of Türkiye’s top 500 industrial enterprises has reached 160,000, making up 30 percent of the ranking prepared by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ISO).

The number of employees working in foreign capital companies listed in ISO 500 has been steadily increasing, as Türkiye’s strong finance system and robust economy continue to lure foreign direct investments (FDI) to the country. The percentage of employment by foreign companies in the ISO 500 list took an upward trend from the mid 90’s level of 14.6 percent to 2010’s 30 percent, corresponding to 160,000 workers, highest recorded to date.

The FDI amount flowing to Türkiye in the last three years amounts to USD 37 billion, with some 80 percent originating from European countries.
