Hilton, Accor and Marriott chains plan to open 85 hotels in Türkiye

Sabah - The new regeneration recently seen in the real estate sector and more specifically in investments for city hotels is beginning to draw attention. While Hilton is embarking upon starting up 13 new hotels by 2011, the Afken Group, along with the international hotel group Accor is planning to establish a hotel chain consisting of 60 hotels. Meanwhile, international hotel chain Marriott is currently in talks regarding taking on the management of 12-13 new hotels. TSKB Real Estate Appraisal General Manager Isil Dincer drew attention to the fact that hotels have made up the majority of properties evaluated over the past month. “Investors are showing interest in hotels, particularly on the Anatolian side of Istanbul.” Vice-President Michael Collini, responsible for Hilton’s Northern European regional development, emphasized that Türkiye is a strategic development market, and stated: “In Türkiye’s seven main centers, there are eight Hiltons and one Conrad, totaling nine hotels at present. Over the past 18 months, we have signed on to opening 13 additional hotels in various regions throughout the nation, including Diyarbakir, Kutahya, Manisa, Bursa, Sanliurfa, Mersin, Corlu and Corum, which are planned to be opened by 2011.”
