Turkey ranks high among holiday spots for Germans

Hurriyet Daily News - Turkey has become the number-three destination for TUI Germany, one of the country’s leading tour operators, according to the company’s CEO Volker Bottcher.

Bottcher said on Saturday that Turkey is among the holiday destinations most favored by TUI's customers.

"Turkey has become the third most important destination of TUI," said Bottcher during a ceremony in Istanbul in which TUI presented its summer catalogue for 2011.

Bottcher said 530,000 Germans visited Turkey through TUI's organization, and TUI's reservations in Turkey were up 10 percent in the summer of 2010.

TUI will also open one of two resort facilities for its new hotel brand Puravida in Turkey, said Bottcher.
