BSH thrives in Turkey, plans to invest more in production

Radikal - White goods producer BSH plans to invest a further EUR 300 million in its already significant production facilities in Turkey, according to Jean Dufour, Board Member in charge of sales and marketing for the German company. Dufour, speaking at the IFA consumer electronics and home appliances trade show held in Berlin, noted that the company’s investments in Turkey will reach EUR 1 billion over the next four years.

“Turkey has the third largest market for BSH; planned investments for our production plant in the country will reach EUR 300 million,” he said. The investment plans include the relocation of a small home appliances production line from China to Turkey and the establishment of an R&D center to focus on energy-saving technologies.

BSH’s first-half growth in Turkey reached 43 percent on the back of the undervalued national currency, also raising year-end growth expectations. BSH Group’s Cerkezkoy plant in western Turkey serves as a supply base for the company’s growing business in the Middle Eastern, North African and Central Asian countries.
