The issue was also discussed at the INTERMAT 2009 Fair, where heavy machinery manufacturers from all over the world gathered. The manufacturers and market players pointed out that Türkiye is emerging as a strong alternative to the European machinery and metals industry, which is experiencing hard times due to the decrease in competitiveness and costly production. According to market players, production costs in Türkiye are far below those in Europe, and China is losing attractiveness as a production center, which altogether will play a role in the move of the European heavy equipment production areas to Türkiye.
