Türkiye's new energy minister promises to pursue a more liberal energy policy

Haber Turk - Taner Yildiz, Türkiye's new Minister of Energy, promised to continue to carry out projects with the utmost care while pursuing a more liberal and competitive energy policy. Delivering a speech at the Eurasia Economic Summit in Istanbul, Yildiz said there are important developments regarding Türkiye's geopolitical and geostrategic position, noting that Türkiye has to take advantage of these. Answering questions from reporters, Yildiz said energy supply security is an area that needs close scrutiny, noting that Nabucco project and gas agreements with Azerbaijan are among their priorities. He said Türkiye is determined to fulfill its duties in the transportation of natural gas within the scope of this project and added that they are ready to reach an agreement on the issue.
