Share of foreign capital in Turkish banking sector ups

Hurriyet – Within the last three to four years, foreign capital, in particular the giant insurance companies of the world, have shown great interest in the Turkish insurance sector. During this period, all majority shares of 15 companies were acquired by foreign investors, whereas they purchased majority shares of eight companies. The foreign capital made investments in the Turkish insurance sector in a timely manner. Should some companies had not been acquired by foreign capital at the time, they would have been forced to close down either in time or under the effect of current financial crisis.
