Turkish textile sector turnover to reach $150 bln in 2023

The New Anatolian - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said he believes Turkey's textile and ready-made clothing turnover will climb to 150 billion USD. "Turkey is in the 8th place in world textiles, and the 4th in ready-to-wear industry," Tuzmen told in the inauguration ceremony of the 11th International Fashion Fair in Istanbul. Tuzmen said Turkey's textile exports were up 17 percent and ready-made clothing exports were up 16 percent in 2007 despite extra-valuable new Turkish liras (YTL). "Turkey earned 9.5 billion USD from textile exports, and 13 billion USD from ready-to-wear exports last year," he told.
