US companies optimistic about outlook in Türkiye

Dünya – A great majority of US companies doing business in Türkiye express content with their investments in the country and are willing to expand operations in the future, according to a survey conducted by the American Business Forum in Türkiye / American Chamber of Commerce Türkiye (ABFT) / AmCham Türkiye.

The sixth of the annual “Business and Investment Climate in Türkiye” survey conducted late last year shows that an overwhelming percentage of 89 senior executives representing US companies operating in Türkiye in 26 different sectors have high confidence in Türkiye in the long term and are supportive of the government’s macroeconomic policies.

Asked about topics such as the investment climate in the country, macroeconomics and others, 81 percent of the surveyed agreed on Türkiye’s considerable market potential, while 70 percent voted for increased investments in the country in coming years.

“Have been conducted since 2007, this survey reflects the growing optimism of US companies about Türkiye.”, ABFT Chairwoman Rahsan Cebe said, assessing the findings. “Accordingly, we expect foreign direct investments into Türkiye to increase.”, she noted.

There are over 1,200 US companies active in Türkiye. The bilateral trade between the two countries reached USD 21 billion in 2011.
