Miami's Brightstar expands into Turkey

The Miami Herald - Brightstar, a Miami-based cellphone and wireless technology distributor, has established a joint venture in Turkey with a subsidiary of Dogan Yayin Holding. “The joint venture company will supply 650 Smile shops in Turkey, delivering products and services in the telecom, Internet, media and entertainment sector” Brightstar said in a press release. Brightstar operates in 50 countries and had 2007 revenue of $4.8 billion. Dogan Yayin Holding is a diversified media firm with annual revenue of $2 billion.
