Türkiye aims to raise trade with Syria to USD 10 billion

Haber Turk – Kursad Tuzmen, the Turkish State Minister for Foreign Trade, said on Thursday that Türkiye aims to raise its trade volume with Syria to USD 10 billion. Tuzmen said Turkish-Syrian trade volume currently stands at USD 2 billion and that Türkiye aims to increase this figure to USD 10 billion. The first train between the Syrian province of Aleppo and the Turkish province of Mersin arrived in Mersin on Thursday evening. State Minister Tuzmen welcomed the first train and its passengers at the train station. "Türkiye will also launch ro-ro voyages from Mersin to Trieste port in the northeast of Italy", Tuzmen said during the welcoming ceremony. Also speaking in the ceremony, the Head of Turkish State Railways Administration (TCDD) said Türkiye will also launch train service from Aleppo to the southeastern Turkish province of Gaziantep soon.
