Enka and KEPCO buy Turkish nuclear tender documents

Reuters - Turkish energy to construction company Enka Insaat and Korean Electric Power Corp (KEPCO) have bought the documents for a tender to build and operate Türkiye's first nuclear power plant, an Energy Ministry official told Reuters on Tuesday. Among the other companies that also bought tender documents were Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, Japan's Itochu Corporation, France's Vinci Construction Grand Projects as well as Suez-Tractabel, said the official. Russian state firm Atomstroyexport had also purchased the documents, the official said.Türkiye, which is facing an energy shortfall, has set a Sept. 24 deadline for bids to build its first nuclear power plant. Ankara plans three nuclear plants in total with a total production capacity of 5,000 megawatts.
