Turkish call center industry to create 45,000 jobs

Star - Türkiye’s call center industry, clustering in the country’s Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia regions, is poised to become an important source of employment with its fast growth.

The industry now consists of around 1,000 companies with 40,000 employees, and is expected to increase the number its personnel to 85,000 by 2015. Bahadir Pekkan, President of the Call Centers Association of Türkiye, said that Türkiye’s customer-to-support representative ratio is far below the global standards and that the country’s rapidly growing call center industry could also serve European companies that prefer offshore customer service solutions. “Türkiye’s potential as a call center base makes foreign companies hasten their investment plans,” he added.
