British PM: Türkiye is BRIC of Europe

Vatan - British Prime Minister David Cameron likened Türkiye’s rapid economic growth to those of BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries and said that the country is regarded as the “BRIC of Europe”.

Cameron said the trade volume between Türkiye and Britain is over USD 9 billion and that the two countries should work to double the trade volume over the next five years. The British Prime Minister called on the British companies to invest in Türkiye. More than 1,800 British companies are operating in Türkiye and are currently the second largest group of foreign investors in the country.

Cameron sent a video message to the British-Turkish Business Forum organized by the Turkish-British Chamber of Trade and Industry, stating that investment and trade should be increased between the two countries.

"Everyone is talking about BRIC countries and rapid growth in the economies of Brazil, Russia, India, and China. We think that Türkiye is a BRIC country of Europe", he said.
