PM Erdogan: ''Türkiye needs R&D to grow''

NTV MSNBC - "Türkiye is a country of great potential but it must invest in research and development", Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday. Delivering an address at the Turkish Patent Institute (TPE) in Ankara, Erdogan pointed out that if Türkiye’s gross national product reaches $800 billion as projected in 2013, then investments in the area of research and development could amount to $16 billion. "The remarkable potential of Türkiye creates several significant opportunities" he said. “We should focus on brand development and create brands to compete in the international platform,” the Prime Minister said. "The Turkish government attaches great attention to research and development projects and it will keep assisting such projects" Erdogan added.
