Türkiye to auction sports betting rights Aug. 12

Bloomberg - Turkish government will hold an auction for a license to run sports betting games on Aug. 12, according to Dogan Yayin Holding AS, Türkiye's biggest media group. The auction date has been delayed from July 21, Dogan Yayin said in a filing with the Istanbul Stock Exchange. Dogan Yayin plans to bid for the rights to run the sports-betting game, known as ‘Iddaa’, with Italy's Lottomatica SpA, it said. The rights to the game are currently held by Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS, Türkiye's biggest mobile phone company, and its Greek partner Intralot SA.
