Exports up 12.5 percent in January, raising hopes for exceeding 2010 target

Dunya - Continuing its uptrend, Türkiye's exports totaled USD 7.91 billion in the first month of the year, a 12.52 percent rise year-on-year, according to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data, increasing hopes for exceeding the assembly's 2010 target of USD 111 billion.

Assessing the positive trend, Türkiye’s Foreign Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan said the figures indicate a continuing rise. "I expect that we can exceed both the USD 107.5 billion target of the medium-term economic program, as well as TIM's USD 111 billion target", he said in a statement.

Türkiye 's exports to 121 countries rose in the first month of the year, with the greatest increase seen in exports to China, said Caglayan.
