Daikin to make Türkiye a manufacturing hub

Sabah - Japanese air conditioner manufacturer Daikin is planning to expand in Türkiye with new investments, according to Daikin Türkiye CEO, Hasan Onder. The company has surpassed its 2012 targets and achieved a growth rate well over the industry average of 6 percent.


“Daikin Türkiye’s investment plan for 2013 envisions creating 1,500 new jobs.” Onder said at a meeting with the press. “We expect the market to expand by 10 percent in 2013.” he added, predicting that Daikin Türkiye’s growth in thenew year will reach 25 percent.


Active in Türkiye since 1975, Daikin acquired Airfel, a Turkish maker of air conditioning systems, for USD 260 million in 2011 with the aim of developing and manufacturing products locally for the Turkish and surrounding markets.
Türkiye’s air conditioning market has reached a volume of USD 1.5 billion in 2011 figures.
