Sanofi-Aventis signs R&D deal with Turkish university

Sabah - Pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis will cooperate with Türkiye’s Ege University for research on new drugs and medications. The R&D deal will transfer more of the French company’s research efforts to Türkiye, while the university will benefit from Sanofi-Aventis’ years of experience in drug development.

The long standing partnership between Sanofi-Aventis and Ege University will also help create an innovative environment in Türkiye’s healthcare sector. The deal particularly focuses on clinical studies of diabetes, oncology and diseases of cardiovascular and central nervous systems. “Sanofi-Aventis already picked Türkiye as a regional R&D base..” said Sanofi-Aventis Türkiye Director Olivier Guillaume, adding that the cooperation deal was an important step taken in that direction.

Sanofi-Aventis has over a thousand employees in Türkiye and locally produces most of its products in the Turkish market.
