“Turkish-French trade volume may reach EUR 15 billion”

Dunya - A delegation of French businesspeople visited the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) in the Turkish capital of Ankara. The visit focused on improving trade ties and developing cooperation between Türkiye and France for conducting business in other countries. TOBB Vice President Halim Mete, speaking on the occasion, said Türkiye and France have the potential to increase their trade volume to EUR 15 billion in the near future, while the Turkish-French Business Council President Jean Lemierre praised the resilience of Türkiye’s economy with regard to the global economic crisis.

Emphasizing that French corporations felt at home in Türkiye, Lemierre remarked on Türkiye’s economic reforms, saying, “Türkiye has been through difficult times during the 2001 crisis and the successive reconstruction efforts have proved very successful”

“The Turkish economy has proved its strength and resilience during the global economic crisis. French companies are among the leading foreign investors in Türkiye. We are working to increase their numbers”, Lemierre noted.
