Renault and Ford among Türkiye’s top exporters in 2010

Dunya – Two global automotive brands with production operations in Türkiye are among the country’s top exporters in 2010, according to Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) data. TIM Chairman Mehmet Buyukeksi listed Türkiye’s top exporting companies in 2010 in a press meeting. Turkish-French car manufacturer Oyak Renault tops the list with USD 3.2 billion of exports, followed by oil refining company Tupras with USD 2.8 billion and Turkish-US automotive JV Ford Otosan with USD 2.6 billion.
The sectoral distribution of the top 1000 exporting companies shows that the automotive industry took the lion’s share in the country’s total USD 114 billion of exports with nearly 21 percent, while iron-steel industry accounted for 14,7 percent, chemicals 11,7 percent, ready wear 11,4 percent and electronics 10 percent. Türkiye has set an export target of at least USD 135 billion for 2011.
