Mineral stones in Southeastern Anatolian Region see increased demand

Dunya – The Southeastern Anatolian Region of Türkiye, famous for its marbles, is starting to contribute to the Turkish economy with its mineral stones. Diyarbakir basalt stone and Mardin mineral stone are now being processed in modern factories instead of in traditional workshops and exported to the world. Devrim Turk, Chairman of Diyarbakir-based DIBAZ AS, stated they are carrying out R&D studies concerning basalt stones and that they are working on improving their means of transportation. Mardin stone sees robust demand in particular from Dubai, Iraq, Lebanon, Russia and Greece.
