Aksa launches carbon fiber production facility in NW Türkiye

Hurriyet Daily News - Aksa Akrilik Kimya, an acrylic-based textile and technical fiber manufacturer, has opened Türkiye’s first carbon fiber production facility in the northwestern Turkish province of Yalova.

Türkiye’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Industry and Trade Minister Nihat Ergun and Omer Dinçkök, the Board Chairman of Akkok Group, attended the opening ceremony. Aksa is a subsidiary of the Akkok Group. The company aims to gain a ten percent market share in the world, as there are only nine countries producing carbon fiber.

Japan, the US, Germany, France, the UK, Hungary, China, India and Taiwan are the other countries producing carbon fiber, which is mainly used in the aerospace industry, in industrial materials for land and sea transportation, and in building and infrastructure reinforcement.
