Hurriyet - Türkiye’s Aksa Enerji is working with US companies to produce electricity from methane gas, obtained from coal, according to company CEO Cemil Kazanci. “We are working with US companies in this field in order to become a major player in the generation of energy from coal bed methane”, said Kazanci. Mentioning Türkiye’s vast coal mines as latent sources to be utilized, he said they are aiming to adapt the relevant technology and are currently in talks with US companies. “We plan to invest in this field in 2010”, he added.
