NTV - In July 2015, beIN Media Group LLC (beIN MEDIA) signed an agreement with DP Acquisitions B.V. to acquire Digiturk, the largest pay-TV platform in Türkiye. DP Acquisitions B.V. is the holding company of Digiturk and is a subsidiary of Çukurova Group. The management rights of Çukurova Group over Digiturk have been exercised by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF) of Türkiye since May 2013. The requirements of the acquisition agreement were completed by the parties in 2016 and the final agreement was approved by SDIF on June 2, 2016.
beIN Media Group is a global sports and entertainment company having prestigious brands such as beIN Sports (formerly Al Jazeera Sport) and Miramax. beIN Sports has 36 channels worldwide and broadcasts across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, North America, and Asia Pasific. The CEO of beIN Media, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, is also the president of French football club Paris Saint-Germain.
The expansion of beIN Media into the Turkish market will further strengthen the dynamics of the Turkish market in the MENA region.
