AA - French automaker Renault has announced that it will manufacture its Renault Clio model partly in France and partly in Türkiye.
Renault's President Carlos Ghosn met on Saturday with French President Nicholas Sarkozy to discuss the location of the manufacturing plant for "Clio 4", and announced that it will be partly manufactured in the Flins factory near Paris and partly in Bursa, Türkiye.
Sarkozy has been urging Renault not to produce Clio 4 only in foreign countries including Türkiye. French government owns a 15 percent share in Renault. Renault, which will start manufacturing Clio 4 in 2013, says the manufacturing activities for Clio 4 will cost USD 2,000 less in Türkiye than in France. Clio is the third bestselling vehicle in France, after Peugeot 207 and Renault Megane.
