Türkiye’s ASPILSAN Speeds up Lithium-ion Battery Cell Investment

ASPILSAN Energy, a cell battery manufacturer in Türkiye's Kayseri province, has signed a technology transfer agreement with its South Korean partners in December 2020 to develop lithium-ion cell batteries in Türkiye.

The Official Gazette dated August 6, 2021 unveiled that ASPILSAN received incentives within the “Project-Based Incentive Support System" from the Turkish government.

ASPILSAN Energy announced that Li-ion Battery Production Facility is about to be completed as the manufacturing of machine systems in South Korea was completed as of August 2021.

“The machines are now passing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with the assistance of ASPILSAN Energy experts. They will depart from S.Korea to Türkiye in the first week of October 2021," the company added.

Introduced in 2016 and implemented in 2018, the Project-Based Incentive Support System provided over USD 100 billion incentives for 34 investments of 29 companies in strategic sectors. The scheme offers custums duty, VAT, and corporate tax exemptions along with social security premium, qualified employee, income tax withholding, and energy supports.
