“Türkiye to receive USD 7-10 billion of FDI in 2010”

Referans - The flow of this year’s foreign direct investments (FDI) to Türkiye is expected to reach a level between USD 7-10 billion, according to the head of the country’s official investment agency. Alpaslan Korkmaz, President of the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT), attended a meeting held by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) Turkish-American Business Council (TAIK) in Istanbul and spoke about the latest developments in the global market for foreign direct investments. Stating their intention as creating a medium-to-long-term sustainable model for foreign investments, Korkmaz said that although the inflow of investments slowed during the last two years due to the global financial crisis, Türkiye still managed to attract USD 7.6 billion of FDI even in a time of economic uncertainty. Korkmaz emphasized that the engineering skills and services offered by Türkiye are highly sought after by foreign investors and that the new R&D law succeeded in attracting many international companies.
