Ankara ranks best in competitiveness

Hurriyet Daily News- Creativity pays off for Türkiye’s capital province of Ankara. The virtue has carried the city to the top of a list that was conducted to rank Turkish cities on their competitiveness. Türkiye’s most popular city, Istanbul, which is considered to be Türkiye’s cultural capital and financial center, ranked second in terms of competitive power, reported Turkish magazine Ekonomist, citing a study conducted by The Center for Economic and Foreign Policy Studies, or EDAM. The Aegean city of Izmir came in third on the list. Ankara ranked higher in the list, as it has attained more success in creativity statistics, according to the research. The creativity of a city is based on certain variables, such as technical personnel number per capita, research and development investments, academic publication number per capita and the number of applications for patents.
