Turkey gets two bids for Izmir-Istanbul highway tender

Bloomberg - Turkey received two bids for a tender to build a highway in the west of the country, the Referans newspaper has said, citing a statement from the Ministry of Transport. Companies including Limak Insaat, Makyol Insaat and Italy’s second largest construction company, Astaldi SpA, were part of the two groups that placed bids for the Izmir-Istanbul highway, which is expected to cost around USD 6 billion, according to the newspaper. The highway will reduce the amount of travel time between the two cities from six and a half hours to three and a half hours.
