The rate of joblessness in urban areas dropped 2 points to 11.5 percent, while rural areas saw a 0.7 point decline to 6.5 percent when compared with the same month of 2010. Against the figure of 22.6 million in December 2010, the number of employed people in the country was calculated to be 23.6 million as of last December.
