Finance Minister Unakitan: Türkiye has attractive projects for UAE money

The New Anaotlian – Turkish Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan said last week Türkiye currently had numerous attractive projects for the investors from United Arab Emirates (UAE). Unakitan said some of those projects were related to Halkbank, Galataport, several electricity distribution and generation companies, sugar factories, highways and bridges, Turkish capital markets, real estates, as well as irrigation, tourism and health sectors. Unakitan and Economy Minister Lubna al Qasimi of UAE signed the protocol of the 7th term meeting of Türkiye-UAE Joint Economic Committee in Ankara. During the signing ceremony, Unakitan said UAE's investments in Türkiye reached 4 billion USD. He said the trade volume between the two countries grew 4 times during the last 4 years and reached 3.7 billion USD by 2007. Unakitan also said a free trade agreement between Türkiye and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) should be signed as soon as possible.
