Yeni Safak – Sumitomo Rubber Industries, the tire and rubber products production unit of the Sumitomo Group of Japan, has pushed the button for the construction of a tire factory in Türkiye’s Central Anatolian province of Cankiri.
Sumitomo Rubber, in partnership with Turkish tire manufacturer Abdülkadir Ozcan A.S, will invest USD 516 million in the plant which will mainly supply the Japanese company’s markets in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Russia.
Assisted by the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT), the project will create employment for 2,000 people when it is completed in 2015.
