Türkiye to play central role in 3M’s regional plans

Dünya – US-based innovative products maker 3M relies on Türkiye for further expansion into the regional markets.

Building a “Super Hub” in the Corlu district of Tekirdag in the Marmara region that is scheduled to be completed by 2016, the company aims at emerging markets in European, the Middle Eastern and North African regions, according to Zafer Kasikara, Director of Industrial Products at 3M Türkiye.

“Set to reach operational stage by next year, 3M’s Super Hub investment in Türkiye will exceed USD 500 million in the coming years, significantly increasing the production and exports of 3M Türkiye,” Kasikara said about the ongoing investment. Placing Türkiye at the center of 3M’s plans regarding emerging markets, the 3M executive said that the Corlu plant would reach sales worth USD 1 billion a year.

Realized with the assistance of the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Türkiye (ISPAT), the 3M Super Hub in Corlu will employ at least 1,000 workers.

The company also opened a Customer Innovation Center in Istanbul last March.
