A new roadmap for improvement of Turkey’s pharma industry

Turkish Daily News - Turkey needs a clear roadmap to develop its pharmaceutical industry to become a regional competitor in innovative medicine, according to the director of external affairs for international pharmaceutical company Merck Sharp and Dohme. Speaking to the Turkish Daily News in Istanbul at the Access to Medicines, Innovation and Health Economy conference, Jeff Kemprecos noted that Turkey already has the educational and health care system as well the human capital to become a global competitor in innovative medicines. He continued: "But what is needed next is that the directive on clinical trials should be approved – hopefully by the end of the year – and a new look should be taken at the R&D law.”
