Referans - German Krone and Turkish Dogus Otomotive are collaborating for the establishment of the country's largest trailer production facility in the Aegean city of Izmir. The factory, which is expected to employ 400 people, will export 80 percent of its products. A major player in the Turkish automotive sector has made an agreement with Europe's second largest trailer producer for the establishment of Turkey's top trailer production facility.
The foundations of the facility, the result of a partnership between German company Krone and Dogus Otomotiv, the flagship company of the Dogus Group's automotive wing, were laid in the Aegean city of Izmir's Tire organized industrial zone. The investment is a challenge to the established norms said Jürgen Föhrenbach, chairman of Krone: “We reached an agreement following a 30 minute negotiation.” “Turkey has advantages such as technological excellence and low production cost. That is why we are here,” he added. Describing the new tire factory as ‘ultra modern’, Föhrenbach emphasized that the location is at the heart of promising markets such as Black Sea, Near East and Northern Africa.
