Dogus and Krone to build new trailer facility

Referans - German Krone and Turkish Dogus Otomotive are collaborating for the establishment of the country's largest trailer production facility in the Aegean city of Izmir. The factory, which is expected to employ 400 people, will export 80 percent of its products. A major player in the Turkish automotive sector has made an agreement with Europe's second largest trailer producer for the establishment of Türkiye's top trailer production facility. The foundations of the facility, the result of a partnership between German company Krone and Dogus Otomotiv, the flagship company of the Dogus Group's automotive wing, were laid in the Aegean city of Izmir's Tire organized industrial zone. The investment is a challenge to the established norms said Jürgen Föhrenbach, chairman of Krone: “We reached an agreement following a 30 minute negotiation.” “Türkiye has advantages such as technological excellence and low production cost. That is why we are here,” he added. Describing the new tire factory as ‘ultra modern’, Föhrenbach emphasized that the location is at the heart of promising markets such as Black Sea, Near East and Northern Africa. Dogus Krone trailer in figures: -The investment totals 35 million Euros. -Krone owns 51 percent and Dogus owns 49 percent of the firm. -The product lines are Profi Liner and Mega Liner trailers. -The annual production capacity is 10,000 trailers. -There are 150 employees. The figure will reach 400 in double shifts. -The factory covers a closed area of 30,000 square meters.
