Antalya getting ready for cruise ship tourism

Gunboyu – Aida, one of the largest cruise ship companies in Europe, will reportedly bring European tourists with high income to Türkiye’s southern resort of Antalya in 2010. In his statement, Taner Gungor, Deputy General Manager of Ortadogu Antalya Liman Isletmeciligi AS, run by Port Akdeniz, a consortium between Global Yatirim AS, Celebi Grubu and Antmarin, said Antalya port has become a center of attraction for European cruise ship operators. Gungor stated that European tourists are bored with Greece - the choice of European cruise ship companies - and that they want to see different places. Therefore, he added, tourism agencies have started to add Turkish coastal towns to their list of cruise destinations.
