EU to open new information center in southeastern Türkiye

Haber Turk - The European Union (EU) is set to open an information center in the southeastern Turkish province of Sanliurfa on Thursday, May 28 to inform residents about Türkiye's accession negotiations and process. The center in Sanliurfa will be opened in a ceremony to be attended by Marc Pierini, Head of the EU Commission Delegation in Ankara, and Sabri Ertekin, Chairman of the Sanliurfa Chamber of Trade and Industry. The ceremony will also be attended by the ambassadors of EU member countries in Ankara. Various seminars, conferences and panel discussions will take place at the new center in Sanliurfa. The center will also be the venue for various cultural activities. The first EU information center was opened in the southeastern Turkish province of Gaziantep in 1996. Since then, EU information centers have also been opened in Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Denizli, Diyarbakir, Edirne, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Konya, Mersin, Samsun, Trabzon and Van. These centers cooperate with local chambers of trade and industry, universities and municipalities.
