BMC to increase production capacity, invests TRY 60 million in R&D

 

Dunya - Special Issue - Attaching great importance to research and development (R&D), Turkish light truck and commercial vehicles producer BMC will spend TRY 60 million for R&D during this year alone. The company also intends to increase its annual vehicle production capacity to 40,000 from its current level of 22,000 in ten years.

 

BMC Sanayi ve Ticaret A. S. CEO Mehmet Demirpence said they have started working on the investment project concerning the construction of three new factories on one million square meters of land in Turgutlu, Manisa with a budget of USD 600 million. “With this investment, we will gradually increase production capacity to 40,000 and then to 60,000 vehicles. This involves doubling the number of our 2,700 employees. BMC’s investments since its establishment have reached TRY 1.7 billion”, said Demirpence.
