Huawei to open R&D center in Istanbul

Dunya - Chinese telecommunication solutions provider Huawei will commission its first R&D center in Turkey in Istanbul’s Umraniye district on January 21. Being the second largest R&D center of the company and a sign of the company’s belief in Turkey’s steadily improving high-tech sector, Huawei’s Istanbul labs will be opened by Binali Yildirim, Turkey’s Minister of Transportation and Communication. Realized with the contributions of the Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT), Huawei’s R&D center in Istanbul will help the company share its expertise and experience in high-tech communications with its employees, clients and partners.

Expected to employ more than 350 Turkish engineers in its staff, Huawei also has a technical support center in Turkey, employing some 150 engineers. Huawei is aiming to develop next generation telecommunications solutions in its Turkish R&D center for local and international markets.
