Bringing together more than 100 investors, Turkish entrepreneurs, and business leaders from across the Bay Area, the reception celebrated the Investment and Finance Office's 20-year institutional journey marked by significant achievements, while highlighting Türkiye's growing connections with global technology and investment ecosystems.
The event marked the culmination of a busy week for Investment and Finance Office in the Bay Area, which included its participation as a Platinum Sponsor at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026.
In his opening remarks, Investment and Finance Office Vice President Bekir Polat reflected on the Office's 20-year journey in attracting international investment to Türkiye and strengthening ties between Turkish entrepreneurs and global capital markets. Building on the discussions at TechCrunch Disrupt, he highlighted Türkiye's potential as a partner in the emerging AI economy, combining strong domestic capabilities with close collaboration with the global technology ecosystem.
Polat also underlined Türkiye's investment advantages, including its USD 2 trillion economy, young and talented population of nearly 90 million, growing number of unicorns, and access to a market of approximately 1 billion people through the EU Customs Union and its network of trade agreements.
The reception also featured remarks by Türkiye's Deputy Consul General in San Francisco Ali Cıkla who highlighted the importance of the soon-to-open Consulate General in strengthening Türkiye's presence on the US West Coast, supporting the growing Turkish community, and fostering bilateral business ties across the region.
Meanwhile, Walmart Connect Growth Marketing Senior Director Adem Şengül shared his perspective on the contributions of Turkish professionals to the global business community and highlighted the strength of the Turkish professional network in the United States.
