President Erdoğan Calls Out to Turkish Youth, Finds Productive Minds a Keystone Asset for Technology

On September 26th, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 3rd edition of Teknofest, Türkiye’s largest aerospace festival held in the Gaziantep Province in southeastern Türkiye.

President Erdoğan addressed young participants, encouraging them to contribute global achievements in emerging technologies: artificial intelligence, blockchain, cyber security, and the internet of things. “Productive brains are the key assets of technology. Everything else follows,” said the president.

President Erdoğan said that government-sponsored infrastructure investments will bolster young people’s efforts. “We will continue to stand by you with the strong infrastructure we have built, with the support programs we provide, and with platforms such as the TEKNOFEST,” he added.

Organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3), the Teknofest Aerospace and Technology Festival had a busy agenda, with air shows, competitions and fairs taking place over four days. The spectrum of competition categories varied this year; from biotechnology innovation to agriculture, from the environment and energy to transportation, from education to helicopter design and jet engine design.

Participants were incentivized to vie for a prize pool of TRY 3 million (USD 400,000+) in total.
