On January 23, a ceremony was held in Türkiye’s eastern province Diyarbakır for the completion of Silvan Dam embankment and for inaugurations of Ergani Dam, Başlar Dam and Ergani Drinking Water Treatment Plant.
Addressing at the ceremony via videoconference, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered messages on Türkiye’s economic and democratic success. “We are now closer to the goal of becoming one of the 10 largest economies in the world. Our claim to manifest Türkiye’s potential as a regional and global political, military, cultural and economic actor is getting more and more tangible,” stated President Erdoğan.
Underlining the fact that Türkiye attaches utmost importance to its domestic resources for self-sufficiency, President Erdoğan explained, “We are determined to leverage the resources we have in the most efficient way by rapidly completing projects with high added value and reaching a certain level of realization. In this context, we plan to complete the Silvan Dam by the end of next year and start water retention.”
