The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced latest developments in Türkiye's labor force statistics.
Accordingly, unemployment rate in Türkiye as of September 2020 decreased by 1.1 percentage points to 12.7 percent, from 13.8 percent of September 2019. The number of unemployed people receded to 4,016,000 decreasing by 550 thousand.
The youth unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group also decreased by 1.8 percentage points, from 26.1 percent to 24.3 percent annually.
Meanwhile, the number of people employed is recorded as 27.707 million in September. Thus, Türkiye generated approximately 5.5 million new jobs in 10-year period.
