EU Commissioner says Customs Union is beneficial both for EU and Türkiye

Haber Turk - An EU Commission official said this week that Customs Union is beneficial both for Türkiye and the EU. Speaking at the 26th meeting of the Türkiye - EU Consultation Committee in Istanbul, Leopoldo Rubinacci, Head of Unit for Europe (non-EU) & Central Asia of the EU Commission, said the EU generally prefers liberalization in its commercial strategies, adding that Türkiye generally makes its coordination well and adjusts its structure to the World Trade Organization. Rubinacci noted that Türkiye's exports to the EU increased 35 percent, thanks to the Customs Union, and if Türkiye pursues its reforms, it will gain more advantages in competition.
