Türkiye’s auto market in high gear

Haberturk – The rise in passenger and light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales in Türkiye has reached 9.2 percent in the first 11 months of 2013, compared to the same period of the last year, according to data released by the Automotive Distributors Association (ODD).


More than 723,000 vehicles were sold in the January-November period -approx. 563,000 passenger vehicles and 160,000 LCVs - compared to 662,000 vehicles in 2012. The figures indicate an 18.5 percent hike in passenger cars and a 14.3 percent drop in LCVs when compared to the last year.


The month of November also saw an increase of 10.6 percent compared to the same month of 2012.


The yearly sales figures are expected to be between 800,000-860,000 for the year, according to ODD estimates.
