British Midland Airways strengthens in Türkiye

Turkish Daily News - British Midland Airways (BMI), which launched Ankara-London Heathrow flights in October 2007, is expecting passenger numbers on the route to grow notably in 2008. BMI is at present the only airline that operates direct flights between Ankara and London without a stop over in Istanbul. The main challenge in the Turkish market is competition against other airlines, said Gail Holden, commercial development manager of BMI at a press conference in Istanbul. “The Turkish market is a sophisticated one. Already a lot of companies operate to and from Türkiye in comparison to many other destinations of BMI. This is why we need to make sure we are on top of our gain in Türkiye,” she said.
