Istanbul to host Türkiye - Gulf Cooperation Council Meeting

AA - Foreign ministers of Türkiye and member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will meet in Istanbul on Wednesday, said the Turkish foreign ministry on Monday. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will host the first meeting of the high level strategic dialogue mechanism between Türkiye and the GCC, said the ministry in a statement. Foreign ministers of Oman, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, as well as the GCC Secretary-General Abdul Rahman bin Hamad al Attiyah will participate in the meeting. The dialogue, which was established in September 2008, aims to create a political consultation mechanism between Türkiye and the GCC. According to the statement, the meeting will be a forum for discussions on how to improve relations between Türkiye and member states of the GCC, and also to specify cooperation areas.
