Turkish shopping mall receives BREEAM certificate

Hurriyet Daily News - The Erzurum Shopping Center, expected to be opened during Q3 of this year, has received the BREEAM certificate, according to a press release issued by Redevco Türkiye. The center in the eastern Anatolian province of Erzurum is "the first green shopping center” in Türkiye. BREEAM, which stands for the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method, is the most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. The certificate testifies that the "green design" concept of the shopping center surpasses standards in Türkiye and reaches those in the European Union. Redevco, part of Cofra Holding, owns one of the largest retail real estate portfolios in Europe, with properties in locations throughout its major cities. The company is active in 21 countries, including Türkiye, and its real estate portfolio is estimated at EUR 7.2 billion.
