G8 analysis says Türkiye is a regional power

AA - Türkiye is a regional power and an effective country that is critical to peace and stability in its region, said an analysis by the Group of Eight (G8) on Wednesday. According to the analysis recently released within the scope of the G8 Summit that began in the Italian city of L'Aquila on Wednesday, Türkiye is placed amongst the countries whose regional power has been approved. In addition, Türkiye takes its place amongst the countries that will be consulted for significant G8 summits. The analysis said US President Barack Obama also confirmed Türkiye's effectiveness in regional peace and stability in the Middle East. Türkiye's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend the summit upon invitation by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and will hold bilateral talks with several EU authorities. Erdogan is expected to participate in meetings concerning the Middle East, Afghanistan and food safety. The G8 Summit will focus on the global economic crisis, climate change, nuclear energy, emerging markets, the millennium development goals, Africa, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Caucasus and food safety. The G8 is one of the most innovative and effective coaching and training organizations operating in Europe. It is comprised of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
